Running Accomplishments:

I ran my first marathon as a teenager in 1981 with my Dad (The Coronado Marathon). Since then I've run St, George (3x) Utah Valley (3x) Ogden (1 full, 2 halves) Park City (1 x) Boston Marathon (1x) Washington DC (1x) Moab Half Marathon (6x) ,Ye Old Freedom Festival 5 & 10K (a million x) and many others.

But I'm all done with that now.  I'm officially a jogger.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My running goal is to keep on keepin' on.

Jog into the sunset.

40 minutes elliptical 5, 662 steps.  300 sit ups, 50 push ups, botsu ball, weights and stretching.  I've been recalling my training for Boston two years ago a lot this past week since it's coming up.  I did much of my winter training runs from work during the afternoons because it was just too cold and dark in the morning before work.  The whole Boston experience was a really good one for me.  I hated the winter training--but being with my friends there, taking my kids to Concord and Lexington, to Walden Pond, to Louisa May Allcott and Ralph Waldo Emmerson's graves, walking the red line, and then also running from Hopkington into  Broylston Ave with all those amazing Boston Marathon supporters--including my personalized message held by a few of Boston's finest police officers--then having one of my better marathon times...it all added up to an amazing experience.  It is something I can always look back on and be proud of having achieved. That folks is what I think about as I'm pumping and sweating away on my stupid elliptical while watching the last few episodes of Archer.

Hi Luz ~ just got caught up with your latest blogs! happy to hear you've had a fun ski season! I went skiing couple weeks ago and kept thinking about how you must've loved the powder in late March! Hubby went skiing yesterday and said the condition was still nice with a bit of new snow and cold day.

anyway, am glad the PRP injection therapy seems to be doing it's job and you are doing a super job with the elliptical and cross training!

I have fond memories of your Boston two years ago! Can't believe it's here again! I am running UNPREPARED this year...may even not run it...but I am going for the party. My son, Eric, whose birthday is today will be a volunteer as a podiatrist in the finish line med tent...so I am excited to see him.

Keep up with the healing and getting healthy again! Will run together again soon!

Thanks. I miss you (and Catherine, and Rach, and, and , and....) so much. I try not to think about it. My daughter still talks about the bus tour of the Bos Marathon course and going to Chinatown with your group--even though what I really wanted was the raab broccoli :( haha. I'm glad you get to go for the "party", though I'm sure you could run it with one hand tied behind your back, or, blindfolded, or whatever. Thanks for the encouragement. I don't know what to blog becaue I once swore that it should be a 'runners blog' for 'running only'. But it seems that all my fitness goals (strenght and cross training) are really just my road back to Rome (ie running). Love you! Have fun in Boston! Though, I know you will!
