I used to be better about keeping a hadnwritten journal.  Which was really good because I'd go home and write all my crazy crap in there and then close the pages and shove it into a drawer.  But now days, it's just so much easier to scream "I'm INSANE" from online. Great.  Today I slept in until the indulgent hour of 6:30, didn't run until daylight.  DAYLIGHT! The run actually felt pretty good--even though I've been tired all these days.  When I was done my sister called and said she was coming out for my birthday.  She said she knew for a fact everyone else was afraid to give me fohhhhrty something spankings, but that she was qualified for the job. It could turn into a brawl with all that spanking, but what are sisters for?  Talking to her helped me pull myself together. The threat of physical violence sharpens my mind I guess, which sadly I think I've passed on to my daughter.  She's gained quite a reputation on the soccer field this year--not afraid to foul, that one.  Looking forward to seeing Catherine tommorrow for our run around the lake. I just have so much work to do until about midnight tonight.  Wish me luck.

GOOD LUCK! :) How fun that your sister is coming out to beat you a bit ;)

Your run sounds SO wonderful! Please know that you are among some really CRAZY friends, at least in this neck of the woods :) You are safe and LOVED :)

That was a very sweet thing of you to say. So now my mantras will include "I can do hard things" AND "I am safe and loved". It feels good to say and believe that. My sis will be here for Nov 6! You of all people will LOVE her and she will LOVE you.

I can't wait to meet her :) I can't wait to try your soups! :)

Wow Luz, things are crazy for you right now. "I can do hard things"--now that's one of my family mottoes, but I thought of a new one reading your post--"I am not crazy--THINGS are crazy."

Sisters are awesome, but yours might underestimate our powers (you might be getting 80 spankings).

Is there a deadline coming up, when you know it will calm down?

From LuzyLew on Fri, Oct 23, 2009 at 14:40:21 from 208.187.197.42

Michelle--my sister may underestimate my women friends, but when you see her, you'll know why. She thinks welding and pulling tree stumps from the ground with her bare hands is fun (that is when she's not whipping up gourmet food or sailing to St. Bart's). I on the otherhand, would not dare to underestimate anyone who wrestles pigs for fun....or run 80+ mile weeks or wins the St. George Marathon. As far as the deadlines goes, if yours is April 15th--mine December 31st. I forsee a lot of work until that time--but hopefully less occupied with fashiony charity events that eat up time and resourses. I'm an 'just ask for the money for important programs' kind a girl. Not a let's throw a party for people with money person. I have no social graces or patience. So afterhours events make my blood boil when what I really want to be doing is watch my daughter push other 13 year old girls out of her way to making a goal. But I will prevail I AM NOT CRAZY! THINGs are CrAzY! and if they say I'm crazy, I'll tell them you said I wasn't.

:) :) :) Can't wait to watch the spanking and beat the craziness out!!!

From LuzyLew on Fri, Oct 23, 2009 at 14:58:46 from 208.187.197.42

Hey wait a second, I can see where this is heading...Let me draw your attention to the soup and cake!

From Smooth on Fri, Oct 23, 2009 at 15:01:08 from 174.23.240.142

Food fight???!!!

From LuzyLew on Fri, Oct 23, 2009 at 15:02:56 from 208.187.197.42

Now you're talking. I mean, just more reason for Michelle to clean her house more than once this year right?

From Smooth on Fri, Oct 23, 2009 at 15:06:05 from 174.23.240.142

Yep! And her deadline isn't until April 15!!!

From MichelleL on Fri, Oct 23, 2009 at 15:12:04 from 71.213.97.46

Hey, hey, hey. . .all food fights need to be outside (now you've got my mom hat on me).

Luz, you need to tell me as we approach the event what you are bringing. Per Marion it seems you are cooking up a storm. From your work schedule, though, it seems we should have you on rolls duty. I just tested Pasta E Fagioli and it is very good, so I think that will be my international contribution.

I am going to Home Depot today to get supplies for filling in a hole or two in the wall and for touch up painting--in a futile attempt to make my house look like kids don't live here :)

From marion on Fri, Oct 23, 2009 at 15:15:39 from 71.213.119.74

Michelle- your house already looks like a model home :) ...minus a switch plate or two ;D ...oh and maybe a little pumpkin on the floors and walls ;) Seriously, your home is PERFECT as is!

From LuzyLew on Fri, Oct 23, 2009 at 15:36:56 from 208.187.197.42

I'm down with NO food fights or spanking for my birthday. I know Smooth may be dissapointed :( I love to make a curried creamed califlour soup, and perhaps one other type of soup (Kale/Butternut squash is a fav). But soup and lemon cake is my tradition. Good bread and other soups might be nice, and more cake. And 15 more people to eat the food. We'll coordinate for real next week. But count me in for 2 soups.
